XP MI-6 and MI-4 owners who've cracked or lost the original cap during field use need this component to restore the pinpointer's battery compartment seal. The red membrane filter insert distinguishes this cap from older XP pinpointer accessories.

What's Included with the XP Pinpointer Top Cap

XP MI-6 and MI-4 Pinpointer Top Cap with red membrane

Why XP MI-6 and MI-4 Owners Need a Replacement Top Cap

Restores battery compartment security after cap damage or loss during hunts

Fits both MI-6 and MI-4 models, simplifying parts inventory for multi-pinpointer teams

Features red membrane design

Prevents battery contact corrosion by maintaining a proper seal in field conditions

Low-cost insurance against mid-hunt equipment failures when the original cap fails

Maintaining XP Pinpointer Reliability in the Field

The top cap's primary role is securing the battery compartment against dirt, moisture, and impact during recovery work. A cracked or missing cap exposes the battery contacts to corrosion, particularly in wet sand or humid environments. We keep spare caps in our dig kits because a $12 part prevents a $150 pinpointer from becoming unusable mid-hunt. If you run an MI-6 or MI-4 regularly, a backup cap eliminates the risk of ending a hunt early due to cap failure.

For detectorists evaluating XP pinpointers or comparing models across brands, our pinpointer comparison guide covers the MI-6 and MI-4 alongside competing units.

Specifications

Compatibility: XP MI-6 and MI-4 Pinpointers

Design: Red membrane filter insert

Function: Battery compartment closure and seal

Why Buy from Serious Detecting

Serious Detecting is an authorized XP Metal Detectors dealer, ensuring you receive genuine XP replacement parts backed by the manufacturer's warranty.
