The Big Spread — 4-in-1 Silicone Slow Feeder, Lick Mat & Bowl Tray for Dogs & Cats

Does your dog inhale their food in seconds, or your cat wander off from every lick mat within a week?

The Big Spread is a genuine all-in-one silicone feeding station — not just a flat lick mat. It combines a removable bowl insert for water or wet food, a raised maze zone for slow kibble feeding, a honeycomb licking zone for spreadable treats, and a textured nub zone for extra enrichment, all moulded into one non-slip silicone tray.

It solves the same problems as a standard lick mat — fast eating, mealtime boredom, anxious moments — but gives you more ways to use it in one product, which is why it's becoming one of the more talked-about feeding accessories in the category rather than just another flat mat.

Four zones, one tray

• Removable bowl insert — lift it out for water, wet food, or easy washing; press it back in for a flush, spill-resistant fit
• Maze slow-feed zone — raised walls force kibble-gulpers to slow down and work for their food, reducing bloat and regurgitation risk
• Honeycomb lick zone — smear peanut butter, wet food, or yoghurt into the grooves for a calming, focused licking session that can genuinely help with anxious moments like baths, nail trims, or time alone
• Textured nub zone — an extra enrichment surface that adds variety and keeps things interesting for pets who get bored of one texture

The whole tray is made from durable, non-toxic silicone, sits flat with a non-slip base, and wipes clean or goes straight in the dishwasher.

Why this beats a standard lick mat

UK search interest in lick mats and slow feeders has grown sharply over the past year, but most products on the market are a single flat mat with one texture. The Big Spread gives you the slow-feed, lick-mat, and bowl functions in one piece, so you're not buying three separate accessories to solve fast eating, boredom, and mealtime mess.

Recommended setup

Pair it with The Big Slow Puzzle Feeder Bowl for dedicated kibble slow-feeding, or use it alongside The Big Snooze Anti-Anxiety Bed as part of a calming routine. For dogs specifically prone to noise anxiety, it also works well alongside The Big Calm Anxiety Relief Vest during fireworks season.

Advanced FAQ

Is it safe for both dogs and cats?
Yes — the food-grade silicone and non-slip base work well for both. Cats tend to use the honeycomb or bowl zones most; dogs get the most from the maze and honeycomb zones.

Does the bowl insert come out?
Yes, it lifts straight out for filling, emptying, and washing separately from the tray.

Will it stay put on my floor?
The base has a non-slip silicone grip that holds well on tile, laminate, and sealed wood. It isn't a suction mount, so very determined pushers may shift it slightly on some surfaces.

Can I put it in the freezer?
Yes. Freezing a filled honeycomb zone extends licking time significantly, especially useful on hot days.

How do I clean it?
Dishwasher safe (top rack), or hand wash with warm soapy water. The removable bowl makes cleaning each zone easier.
