rtg-blade-aluminum-sand-scoop-for-beach-metal-detecting
RTG Blade Aluminum Sand Scoop for Beach Metal Detecting

The RTG Blade is a 48.5-inch aluminum sand scoop built for beach detectorists working wet sand, shell-packed zones, and the surf line. The 7.5-inch V-shaped bucket with 9/16-inch punched holes sifts sand quickly while the 13-degree angled backplate provides a stable foothold for pushing the scoop into compacted substrate. Beach hunters who've struggled with scoops that twist or require awkward body positioning will find the 20-degree welded handle angle and foot bracket support reduce strain across multi-hour sessions.

What's Included with the RTG Blade Scoop

RTG Blade aluminum sand scoop with V-shaped bucket

40-inch aluminum handle with welded foot bracket

Rubber hand grip

Why Beach Detectorists Reach for the RTG Blade

V-shaped bucket geometry cuts into wet sand and shell layers faster than flat-edge scoops, reducing the number of re-digs on deep targets in the trough.

Angled backplate doubles as a foot platform so you can drive the scoop vertically into packed sand without the handle flexing or your boot slipping off the edge.

3.85-pound weight keeps fatigue low across 3-4 hour hunts while the 1.25-inch diameter handle absorbs impact without transmitting shock to your wrist.

9/16-inch punched holes drain water and fine sand in seconds, letting you isolate targets without shaking the scoop for 20 seconds per recovery.

Proudly manufactured in the USA: built at Reilly's Treasured Goods' facility for rugged reliability and strict American quality control.

Hunters working coarser substrates or rocky beaches may prefer the RTG Blade with stainless steel tip, which adds a riveted edge for durability in abrasive conditions.

Welded Handle and Foot Bracket for Controlled Penetration

The 40-inch handle is welded at a 20-degree angle to the bucket, positioning your grip naturally above the digging plane so you're not bending forward to apply downward force. The foot bracket spans the backplate's width, giving you a stable platform to step onto when the scoop hits a shell layer or compacted wet sand. We've used scoops where the bracket was too narrow or positioned too high on the handle, forcing you to balance on one edge; the RTG Blade's bracket placement keeps your boot centered and the scoop tracking straight down. The rubber hand grip reduces vibration when the bucket strikes a rock or shell fragment, and the 1.25-inch diameter handle gives enough surface area for gloved hands without requiring a wide grip that tires your forearm.

How it compares to other RTG sand scoops

Feature

RTG Blade Stainless Tip

RTG Blade Travel

RTG Blade

Bucket Width

7.5in (19cm)

7.5in (19cm)

7.5in (19cm)

Overall Length

48in (122cm)

51in assembled (130cm)

48.5in (123cm)

Weight

4.05 lbs (1.84kg)

4.15 lbs (1.88kg)

3.85 lbs (1.75kg)

Handle

One-piece aluminum

Two-piece travel (24in + 27in sections)

One-piece aluminum

Tip Construction

Stainless steel tip riveted to bucket

Aluminum V-edge

Aluminum V-edge

Specifications

Bucket Dimensions: 7.5in W x 12in L (19cm x 30cm)

Hole Size: 9/16in (14mm) punched holes

Backplate Angle: 13 degrees

Handle Diameter: 1.25in (3.2cm) aluminum

Handle Angle: 20 degrees welded

Overall Length: 48.5in (123cm)

Weight: 3.85 lbs (1.75kg)

Materials: Aluminum bucket and handle, rubber hand grip

Country of Manufacture: USA

Why Buy from Serious Detecting

We're an authorized Reilly's Treasured Gold dealer, and every RTG Blade scoop ships with the manufacturer warranty.
