garrett-pro-pointer-at-waterproof-pinpointer-with-all-terrain-dig-pouch
Garrett Pro-Pointer AT Waterproof Pinpointer with All Terrain Dig Pouch

The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is the orange waterproof pinpointer most detectorists end up with, and this bundle pairs it with the Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch so the pinpointer, your finds, and your trash each have a place on your belt. It suits anyone who hunts wet ground, beaches, or shallow water and wants the pinpointer and pouch set up correctly from the first outing.

Pinpointer only, this bundle, or the Z-Lynk?

If you already own a finds pouch with a holster, buy the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT on its own and save the difference. This bundle makes sense when you are starting out or replacing a worn pouch: the All Terrain Dig Pouch has a built-in holster sized for the Pro-Pointer AT, mesh drain screens for beach sand, and a carabiner for rings. If you run a Garrett AT Max or another detector with Z-Lynk wireless, read our Pro-Pointer II vs AT vs Z-Lynk comparison before choosing; the AT Z-Lynk sends pinpointer audio to your headphones, which this standard AT does not. For a full field review of the pinpointer itself, see our Garrett Pro-Pointer AT review.

Using the Pro-Pointer AT in the field

The Pro-Pointer AT runs at 11.5 kHz with a 360-degree detection field around the tip, and responds with proportional audio and vibration that intensify as you close on the target. Three sensitivity settings let you turn it down for coin-sized targets in trashy ground or up for small gold. Fast Retune matters more than any other feature: press it once with the tip against mineralized soil to cancel the ground, or press it near a large target to shrink the field so you can isolate a small one next to it. The ruler moulded into the housing reads depth in inches and centimeters, the LED lights the hole, and the lost-pinpointer alarm chirps after five minutes of inactivity so it does not stay in the grass. Waterproof to 20 feet (IP68), it works in surf and streams; rinse it in fresh water after saltwater sessions and keep the battery cap threads clean.

What the All Terrain Dig Pouch adds

The Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch (part 1664800) is a belt pouch with two zippered compartments, mesh screen panels that let sand and water drain out, a dedicated Pro-Pointer holster on the side, and a carabiner clip for rings and keys. Keeping keepers in one pocket and trash in the other means you stop sorting through aluminum at the car, and the holster keeps the pinpointer at hip height for a one-handed draw. It fits belts up to standard trouser width; for wetsuit or dry-suit belts see our other finds pouches and carry bags.

What's included

Garrett Pro-Pointer AT waterproof pinpointer (part 1140900)

Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch with Pro-Pointer holster (part 1664800)

Black woven belt holster for the pinpointer

9-volt battery, installed

Garrett 2-year factory warranty on the pinpointer

Specifications

Model: Garrett Pro-Pointer AT (1140900)

Operating frequency: 11.5 kHz

Waterproof rating: 20 ft (6 m), IP68

Detection area: 360 degrees around tip

Dimensions: 9 in long x 1.5 in diameter

Weight: 6.5 oz with battery

Battery: one 9 V; about 30 hours alkaline, 16 hours carbon, 8 hours rechargeable

Operating temperature: -35 to 158 F (-37 to 70 C)

Pouch: Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch (1664800), two zippered compartments, mesh drain panels, pinpointer holster, carabiner

Other Garrett Pro-Pointer AT options

Pro-Pointer AT only: pinpointer and belt holster, for hunters who already have a pouch.

Pro-Pointer AT with Dig Pouch and Edge Digger: adds the serrated Garrett Edge Digger for a complete park and relic kit.

Pro-Pointer AT open box: same pinpointer, returned or display unit, at a lower price.

Why buy from Serious Detecting

Serious Detecting is an authorized Garrett dealer, so the Pro-Pointer AT in this bundle is genuine and carries Garrett's full 2-year factory warranty, and our team has used this pinpointer and pouch combination on beaches and relic sites for years.
