Parents hunting with kids face a common problem: standard adult-length stems force young detectorists to stretch awkwardly or drag the coil, compromising both comfort and target recovery. This kit solves that by replacing the upper and lower shaft segments with a single adjustable stem that maxes out at 22 inches, letting a child swing the detector at their natural height and build proper technique from the start.

What's Included with the Junior Stem Kit

Adjustable junior stem (replaces both upper and lower shaft segments)

Why ACE Detector Owners with Young Hunters Reach for the Junior Stem

Adjustable length accommodates children of different heights and grows with them as they develop detecting skills over multiple seasons

Designed as a direct replacement for the standard two-piece shaft system on Garrett metal detectors in the ACE series

Lightweight black construction matches the ACE aesthetic and keeps total detector weight manageable for smaller arms

Shorter maximum length (22 inches) eliminates the overreach and coil-dragging common when kids try to use adult-length stems

Single-Piece Adjustable Design for Growing Detectorists

The junior stem uses an adjustable single-piece design that replaces both the upper and lower shaft segments found on adult ACE detectors. Parents can adjust the length to match their child's arm length and height. The 22-inch maximum keeps the coil close to the ground for proper target recovery without forcing a young hunter to bend or stretch. Black finish matches the ACE control box and coil housing. The stem replaces the upper and lower shaft segments of the standard ACE stem assembly.

For tips on teaching young detectorists proper swing technique and target identification, see our metal detecting tips and FAQs page.

Specifications

Brand: Garrett

Compatibility: Garrett ACE series metal detectors

Color: Black

Maximum Length: 22 inches

Replaces: Upper and lower shaft segments of standard ACE stem assembly

Why Buy from Serious Detecting

We are an authorized Garrett dealer, so your Junior Stem Kit ships with full manufacturer warranty coverage and access to Garrett's specialized customer support and technical service facility in the United States.
